Children's Book Bank Project
One way Positive Charge! PDX "amplifies kindness" is by shining the spotlight on other nonprofit gems. During March, we'll be offering three volunteer opportunities to support—and get to know—the Children's Book Bank.

Drop off used picture & board books
from March 4-18
(see below for drop sites)
1
DONATE PICTURE & BOARD BOOKS
-
CBB serves preschool students and their families through Head Start and other community programs.
-
Donated books should be for babies through elementary school students (no chapter books).
-
Gently used or new.
-
Culturally diverse, please. When children see their life community and culture reflected in books, they see their own story matters.
OR
Click here for a list of CBB's favorites available through independently owned, local GREEN BEAN BOOKS.
Look for the Positive Charge! PDX Wish List and request "in-store pick-up" on your order. Staff will hold the books for PC! PDX angels to pick up and deliver to the Children's Book Bank.
2
SEW HANDMADE TOTE BAGS
now . . . and drop off from March 4-18
(see below for drop sites)
-
For delivering kids' book bundles (each contains 14 picture and/or board books)
-
The children then have their own book bag!
-
Sturdy fabric, please.
-
Making them in fun, colorful fabric would be extra nice for the kids.
-
EXTRA SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!! Our amazing friends at Bolt Fabric Boutique have set aside some free fabric to give you for this project! Just tell the salesperson you're working on the book tote bags with Positive Charge! PDX.
-
If you can't make it to Bolt Fabric Boutique, email info@PositiveChargePDX.org and we will try to arrange to get fabric to you.
