About the event

2 in 5 menstuating people in the US can't afford to buy period products, and 1 in 3 miss school, work, or a similar commitment as a result of Period Poverty. This is a big deal—such a big deal that there's a national Period Poverty Awareness Week (May 20-26, 2024) and an International Menstrual Hygiene Day (May 28, 2024).

In conjunction with these campaigns to build awareness around this taboo topic that's impacting so many of our low-income neighbors and friends, we've organized a collection of menstrual supplies and invite evenyone to join us in organizing them into Equity Period Packs. We'll also be making cards with messages of care and kindness to tuck into each pack. Our friends at Equity, period. will be distributing what we collect and pack to our neighbors in need.

No need to bring any supplies to the Packing Party. We'll have everything you need. If you want to bring something, feel free to bring art supplies to make your cards, or bring your period product donations to the event with you.

Space is limited, so please register ASAP.  No walk-ups will be admitted.

NOTE: You'll be asked to accept these Terms and Conditions of Positive Charge! PDX when you sign up to attend. Please review them now. If you are bringing minors, please print, fill in, and bring this Waiver with you when you come to the event. Thank you!

We sooooooo look forward to seeing you at this iconic Positive Charge! PDX event! Got questions? Email info@PositiveChargePDX.org.
