Community Stitching Bee

Instead of a quilting bee, it's a community "stitching bee"! Join old friends and new to put the finishing touches on patchwork afghans that will be donated to area organizations that help our unhoused neighbors. No sewing experience needed--just a willingness to learn and a big heart!

About the event

This is an iconic Positive Charge! PDX event!

We'll be working side-by-side whip stitching knitted and crocheted "squares" into finishing patchwork afghans . . . and connecting with others (heart) while our hands do the good work. The finished products will be donated to area organizations such as Rose Haven and Janus Youth, nonprofits that serve our unhoused neighbors. We truly hope you'll join us in helping to keep someone a little warmer this winter!

No experience is needed; we'll provide training and the supplies. (Think back to those learn-to-sew kits when you were a kid; the whip stitch 's that simple in-and-out stitch!)

Kids ages 10+ are welcome, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

Note: During the RSVP process, you'll be asked to accept these Terms and Conditions of Positive Charge! PDX. Please review them now.  If you plan to bring a minor, please print out, fill out, and bring this Minor’s Waiver with you when you come.
