Spread Loving Kindness through Bookmarks and Placemats
When does the Project start?
About the Project
Due to Covid-19 stay-at home orders, we're postponing this signature Positive Charge! PDX event until we're free and clear of the threat of this "beast." It'll be so fun to get together down the road and combine two of our favorite “paper” projects for a few hours of art in service of spreading good cheer--which we'll all need by that time!
What you'll be able to look forward to: Drawing placemats for our Meals on Wheels friends and Holocaust survivors as well as creating beautiful bookmarks, each with a message of positivity and loving kindness. The idea is that the bookmarks will be delivered to Little Free Libraries throughout the city to share and pass forward. Spreading random messages of kindness fuels a feel-good spark and a sense of community—for the giver as well as the receiver.
When the event happens, what to bring: We’ll have supplies to share, but, if you have any of the following, we would be grateful if you brought card-stock paper, markers, crayons, colored pencils, stickers, ribbon, or anything else you might like to use to draw and create.
FOR LATER . . .
This is another great event for ALL AGES! If you plan to bring a child or children, please REGISTER SEPARATELY FOR EACH PERSON, noting in the appropriate field that the individual is a child. This way, we'll be able to keep track of exact numbers. Thank you for your kind attention to this request.
ALSO, please see our Photo Authorization and Liability Release details for the event. You will be asked to agree to these terms and conditions when you RSVP. Thanks for helping us to take care of paperwork upfront, so we can spend every moment at the event getting our "positive charge"! P.S. If you do NOT want to have your photo taken, please mention this to the PC! Angel at our welcome desk when you arrive so we can be sure to identify you. No pressure at all!
Looking forward to hanging out with you for a few hours of art (therapy). :)
