Create Valentines for Hospitalized Children
When does the Project start?
About the Project
For this event, we'll be creating Valentines that the Chelsea Hicks Foundation will be distributing to our precious critically ill kids in area hospitals.
We just love the work of the Chelsea Hicks Foundation! In the past, we've collected costumes and props for Chelsea's Closet, their program that provides monthly dress-up parties for seriously ill children in area hospitals. Their goal is to bring a smile to their faces and joy to their hearts and have them forget – if just for a few moments – the struggles they are facing. We've even helped to sort and organize the costumes and props at the Chelsea Hicks Foundation warehouse in Tigard.
Now it's time to put our artistic skills to use and have some fun creating Valentines for these children, who would really rather be in school sharing cards with their teachers and classmates. In fact, this is a great event for kids as well as adults!
What to Bring (but not necessary, as we'll have supplies to share!):
Blank white cards and art supplies such as markers, ribbon, stickers, stamps, scissors, glue, and the like. We are also collecting much needed seasonal items for their teens and tweens: zip-up onesie jammies, as well as slippers and socks with grippy soles. Please feel free to bring them to our event, or we have an Amazon wishlist too: https://smile.amazon.com/hz/charitylist/ls/1R5AHJI6LJC4R/ref=smi_ext_lnk_lcl_cl
Note: Although this may be an inconvenience, we kindly request that you register each individual (including children) separately as knowing numbers helps with setting up the room and having plenty of supplies. Many thanks!
